IMG_1605Education is highly valued In the community of Du Quoin and the proof of that is in the community’s willingness to invest in our students’ futures. Du Quoin CUSD #300, our public school district, has updated and built new facilities in recent years, including a beautiful new high school. Families which prefer a faith-based educational experience also have options nearby, including the Christian Fellowship School within Du Quoin and area Catholic schools.

Traditional and non-traditional college students living in Du Quoin have the main campuses of two growing two-year colleges and a major university within about a half-hour drive. Adding to the convenience is the John A. Logan College Extension Center located in Du Quoin and Rend Lake College’s extension center on Highway 154 in Perry County, making many of the classes needed by students available just moments from home. Most local students complete their four-year degrees at Southern Illinois University-Carbondale, which has an enrollment of more than 17,000 students in total.
